Personal
Dakin and his wife Erin, enjoy their two daughters, two dogs and all the adventures associated with them. “When I am not surveying I enjoy spending time with my family on the family-owned property located near Lake Roosevelt in eastern Washington. Growing up in eastern Oregon I have come to appreciate the late summer, fall, and winter as my favorite times of the year as I spend as much time as possible outdoors with our dogs, training them in the art of pointing towards upland game birds. I also enjoy alpine skiing in brand new powder snow, cycling and running and keeping myself somewhat fit, so I can keep up with my girls, and the dogs.”

“Like many people living in the Northwest, I enjoy the outdoors. Living in Snoqualmie gives my family and I immediate access to the mountains and rivers we like to hike and fish. Though some consider it work, I also enjoy yard work and home repair. I find this relaxing and get a sense of achievement when I have a finished project.”
Surveyors, Engineers, and Managers
Sue C. Chandler
My BRH adventure started in October 1987. Since then I have held various roles such as receptionist, typist, proof reader, filing clerk, archivist, marketing specialist, and survey accounts receivable.
Professional Overview
I enjoy working in a family atmosphere and that is what it is like at BRH. My fellow employees are some of the best people I have worked with and for that reason I look forward to coming to work every day. It’s great to be in a team environment where everyone works together and we all strive to come up with a solution together. Teamwork and an awesome environment is why I enjoy working at BRH!
Personal
“In my opinion we live in one of the most beautiful states in the US. For the past several years I have been hiking the various trails Washington has to offer. I absolutely love being in the mountains. I also enjoy fishing for salmon and steelhead. My favorite type of fishing on our various rivers is from a drift boat — nothing like a tug on your line to get your heart pumping a little faster. I also enjoy watching our Seahawks, Mariners and trying new restaurants. “
Scott Edwards, PLS
Project Manager
Scott has never been one to accept the status quo. For as long as he can remember, he has always pursued a philosophy of continual learning. Scott is Professional Land Surveyor licensed in Washington (2004) and Oregon (2015). He is also a Certified Federal Surveyor (2012). However, his interests are not limited to surveying. Scott also holds an MBA from City University and a Certificate in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Washington. Scott’s most recent accomplishment is earning a FAA Part 107 – Remote Pilot Certificate.
Professional Overview
Scott’s interest in land surveying came at a young age. His grandfather was a prominent surveyor in Minnesota and Wisconsin, providing Scott with the inspiration to choose a career in surveying. Scott took the first step in his vocation in 1995, enrolling as a student in the land survey program at Renton Technical College. Following graduation, he spent seven years as a field crew team member and as an office technician. At this point, Scott earned his first Professional Land Surveyor license and became a project manager serving multiple public and private sector clients.
Scott has boundary, topographic, utility, ALTA Land Title Survey, subdivision, lot boundary adjustment, condominium, corridor, construction, and monitoring survey expertise, plus he has established multiple control networks.
Finally, Scott feels it is important to give back to the professional community that has always been there for him and provided him with support along his chosen career path. He is a past President and current active member of the North Puget Sound Chapter of the Land Surveyors’ Association of Washington and is currently the Chairperson for the Advisory Committee for the Land Survey/Geospatial Science program at Renton Technical College.

“I enjoy the landscapes and cultural diversity found all over the Pacific Northwest. I love to get off the beaten path and explore the backcountry and small towns that can be found throughout this magnificent area. Getting out by motorcycle, car, bicycle, or just using my own two feet makes for a great day. The spectacular scenery of this area can be absolutely awe-inspiring and many of the people one encounters have the most incredible stories on how they live their lives. Plus, it is always fun to talk with people who have ties to the land. The history they share and their insights on life make each of these small adventures unforgettable. To me, the journey is the destination.”
